A Refreshed Resource for Michigan Youth

by | Apr 30, 2023 | News & Events

Welcome! We’re excited to launch a newly-designed website for Michigan Minds Empowered, which has served as an online resource for teens and young adults since 2017. We’ve added new learning content, a self check-in questionnaire, and personal narratives from young people, their families, and team members across Michigan.

We are proud to have worked hand-in-hand with individuals with lived experience, family members, and team members from NAVIGATE and ACT Early specialty care programs to develop our new online home in partnership with Strong365 Lab.

Get Involved

This is just the beginning! With more web and video content to come over the next few months, we welcome your ideas for new content, features and functionality. We’re also accepting submissions of personal stories from NAVIGATE and ACT Early participants and graduates who are interested in sharing. These stories can be published on the blog (anonymously or attributed), or produced as videos on our YouTube channel

Please drop us a note at michiganmindsempowered@gmail.com to share your story, provide ideas or feedback for the website, or get involved in other ways.

New Video Series

Our new video series, Navigating Recovery from Psychosis, follows participants through their recovery journeys while participating in Michigan’s NAVIGATE programs. Although each person’s story is unique, many shared these common experiences in their healing process:

  • the power of (chosen) family, peer, and community support
  • the importance of a team who believes in you and supports you in reaching individual goals
  • the discovery of new strengths and interests as part of the recovery journey

Navigating Recovery from Psychosis: Michigan youth & families share their experiences

We believe that every person facing a mental health challenge can access inner strength and wellbeing. Michigan Minds Empowered is a space to do just that – connect, learn and draw inspiration from one another.

We’re glad you’re here, and invite you to learn more about psychosis and what it’s like to move through recovery from James and Garrison, take a self-check questionnaire, and get connected to a team near you.
